Columbarium 福位 · 骨灰殿

A memorial space that holds your remembrance and makes it easy for the family to pay respects for years to come. After cremation, the ashes are usually placed in an urn, which is then enshrined long term in a suitable niche.

About niches

What is a columbarium niche?

A niche is usually located inside a columbarium hall or building, and is a fixed place where the urn is enshrined long term. The family can later pay respects and remember in a clear, orderly setting.

Today's niche spaces also pay more and more attention to surroundings, interior design, long-term management and the experience of paying respects, so that future visits are easier and more reassuring for the family.

Different locations

Each location
has its own character.

Columbarium halls across the Northern Region's parks are not all alike. West Lake Garden in Penang keeps a more classic, solemn feel; Nirvana Center Butterworth leans modern and bright; Bukit Mertajam has more themed and indoor areas; and Sungai Petani offers both traditional and air-conditioned indoor options. The right one is a place your family feels comfortable in and will want to come back to often.

Some families like bright and modern; others prefer traditional and solemn. Choosing a niche is not only about one spot, but about the whole setting your family will come back to when paying respects.

Single and double niches
Niche options

Single, or double.

Niches can be chosen to suit your family's needs. Some want one person enshrined individually; others want two family members together in one combined space. Door panels, floors and interior design differ between parks, but the choice itself is not complicated.

Planned for one person, with a clear location that makes it easy for family to pay respects later.

Double optionDouble niche

Two family members plan together and can later be enshrined in the same space.

What to consider

When choosing a niche,
what do people look at?

No need to make it complicated at the start. When actually choosing, people usually compare location, surroundings and number of people first, then position and budget, at their own pace.

01Location

First, consider how easy it will be for family to pay respects. Distance, area and everyday travel are often the most practical first step.

02Surroundings and design

Some like bright and modern; others prefer traditional and solemn. A space that suits you feels very different.

03Single or double

Choose by family size and how you are planning. First decide whether you need one place, or whether two family members are planning together.

04Position and budget

Within the same columbarium hall, prices may differ by floor, eye level, zone and position. You can then compare at your own pace according to your budget.

A comfortable, bright columbarium hall
Memorial space

A good setting
makes remembering feel lighter.

A bright, clean space that is cared for over the long term makes paying respects calmer and less hurried. When family come back, it is not just to complete a ritual, but to have a truly comfortable, quiet place where they can sit down and remember someone.
